Ryan Hunter-Reay makes it 2 years in a row at Milwaukee Mile

2013 Milwaukee IndyFest Podium
Ryan Hunter-Reay continued Andretti Autosport's domination at the Milwaukee Mile, winning the IndyCar event Saturday for the second year in a row.

Hunter-Reay became the first driver to win back-to-back races at the Mile since Tony Kanaan in 2006 and 2007 when he was driving for — you guessed it, Andretti.

Andretti drivers have won five of the last nine races at the mile oval.

It's the second win of the season for the defending IndyCar Series champion and it came at the site of the track he used to jumpstart last year's title run. Hunter-Reay reeled off three consecutive wins starting with Milwaukee last season to climb into the championship race.

Penske Racing's Helio Castroneves was second, and teammate Will Power finished third.

On track action got underway early for the Milwaukee IndyFest as the Cream City Rickshaws took to the one-mile oval today for their first official test session. Rickshaw pilot Kris Lacrnski turned a fast lap time of 4:03.27 setting a new track record for the three-wheeled man-powered machines.

Seventeen rickshaws will take to The Mile this weekend for two heat races on Friday followed by the final one-lap showdown going green at 11:35 a.m. on Saturday. This unique racing event, deemed the Inaugural World Championship of Rickshaw Racing, will feature some of the finest cyclist and man-powered taxi drivers the state of Wisconsin has to offer.

"I was impressed to see the pure speed and power of the rickshaws during their tests session today," said Milwaukee IndyFest General Manager Kevin Healy. "I think Saturday's Inaugural World Championship of Rickshaw Racing is going to be an unforgettable experience."

Complementing its partnership with Andretti Autosport, DHL is a major sponsor of the historic Milwaukee Mile event, which features exciting race action from the IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights and Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires - as well as concerts, family activities and more.

From June 14-15, DHL will bring the "speed of yellow" to the iconic one-mile oval with its trademarked yellow and red branding throughout the event, including at Turn 4 of the Milwaukee Mile's oval. "We're thrilled to once again be a sponsor of the Milwaukee IndyFest and work with Michael Andretti and Andretti Sports Marketing to keep the Milwaukee Mile's legacy alive and bring a truly memorable experience to racing fans in the area," said Christine Nashick, Vice President of Marketing for DHL Express.

The Coors Light Music and Beer Garden sets the stage for local Milwaukee music

Milwaukee IndyFest announces the band lineup for the Coors Light Music and Beer Garden at the Father's Day weekend event at the historic Milwaukee Mile.
