NEW TRACK RECORD SET AT THE HISTORIC MILWAUKEE MILE
Cream City Rickshaws Sets New Three-Wheel Racing Record during IndyFest Test Day
On track action got underway early for the Milwaukee IndyFest as the Cream City Rickshaws took to the one-mile oval today for their first official test session. Rickshaw pilot Kris Lacrnski turned a fast lap time of 4:03.27 setting a new track record for the three-wheeled man-powered machines.
Seventeen rickshaws will take to The Mile this weekend for two heat races on Friday followed by the final one-lap showdown going green at 11:35 a.m. on Saturday. This unique racing event, deemed the Inaugural World Championship of Rickshaw Racing, will feature some of the finest cyclist and man-powered taxi drivers the state of Wisconsin has to offer.
"I was impressed to see the pure speed and power of the rickshaws during their tests session today," said Milwaukee IndyFest General Manager Kevin Healy. "I think Saturday's Inaugural World Championship of Rickshaw Racing is going to be an unforgettable experience."
