My dad used to take me to the mile as a kid to watch the races more than 50 years ago. I had season tickets for many years watching the ASA cars run with guys like Alan Kulwickie, Mark Martin, Rusty Wallace, etc. all of which eventually made it big in NASCAR. It's a great place to watch a race at and is a shame that the economy hurt attendance so much that one could not profitably promote a successful racing program. Give the economy a little more time to recover and give it a go again. I miss the racing there. Keith Malek

I share memories of the Rex Mays 250 the weekend after the Indy 500. It was the place to be, and still should be. Made racing fans out of kids like me. Thanks to the Andretti family for bringing it back this year, just like Road America in 2007 when CART was broke. Wish I could have 2 minutes with Mario, I'd tell him this:
Just buy it. Get the Fair Board and the local govenment out of the way.
Needs local radio and TV promo. Has been almost extinct for years.
Big issue- Honey Creek fixes. Just do it.
I'll do your radio ads for free. I am a great voice, and have a plan using history and empathy
for some great spots.
Get IndyCar back to racing here the weekend after the Indy 500. It worked.
Get NASCAR back.

Don't let the Milwaukee Mile be a victim of a questionably run fair park....We don't need more food/knick knack stands. The thought of seeing a sign along the road that states historic marker is ahead . And all that is left is a brown sign stating what use to be... The Historic Milwaukee Mile...would tryly be sad.

Get an autosports enthusiast to invest in the track/buy it, build some garages, advertise the snot out of the track, attract some big races, bring the Nationwide series and truck series back, and this track will flourish. I would even go to the extreme and say buy out the block on the backstretch if profitable and build stands all the way around the track. Not sure about where the extra parking would go though.

Please don't let this track go. My entire 45 years have been spent living very close to the Milwaukee Mile. It is a great location and the drivers love this track. For all these years we have grown up selling lemonade and just sitting outside talking to all of the spectators that come for races here, it has been a joy and a source of pride. I live in the Lake Geneva area and watched that track closed. (ROSS KENSETH raced there on the weekends in his beginning career)
I work in the Milwaukee(in the automotive industry), and I am watching this track being pushed asside.
I am an AVID race fan on both the Open wheel and Stock car as well as Moto.
There are way too many smaller tracks being closed, that are supported by local people, all in the name of the almighty dollar.
To quote Pete Pistone we all need to be "staning up" about this and get something done. Not just for the INDY series, but NASCAR as well.

Been supporting the track since the '60's. State Fair week used to feature two, three or even four stock car races. Almost lived there in August. NASCAR should support its roots. They take the Nationwide to Elkhart Lake for a road course race; what's the matter with the mile?
I have been going to the mile for many many years. From the time when the REAL ASA with stars like Bobby Dotter, Butch Miller, and Mike Eddy made its way through there, to the start of the nascar era at the mile. I love and appreciate the mile and its heritage. I grew up 3 blocks away from the track in the 80s and my father and I rarely missed a race. I sincerely hope that we can continue to enjoy our memories and more memories to come at The Mile. And not to mention I WANT TO SEE NASCAR BACK AT THE MILWAUKEE MILE!!!!!

Save the Milwaukee Mile!! I have so many memories watching the Indy races when A. J. Foyt was burning up the track. We loved going to the Nationwide races. BRING NASCAR BACK. We will be in the stands for the ASA/Big 8 racing on June 12, 2012. Our favorite local racer will be participating. His first time at the Mile. What a thrill it will be to watch him at the Mile. He will be part of this History Making track. Find people who truly care about the Mile to keep it going. DON'T LET THE MILE GO BY THE WAYSIDE LIKE MY FAVORITE BALL PARK OF ALL TIME, COUNTY STADIUM. THAT BROKE MY HEART as I went to so many Braves games since 1953 when it opened.

My father used to work on the Fire & Rescue Squad at the Milwaukee Mile 50's, 60's, 70's in the North Turn and saved many lives there! I grew up at the Mile and I am 47 now. I have many fond memories of my family sitting in the infield across from my father......and have wonderful memories and funny stories of time spent with AJ (Foyt), Al & Bobby (Unser) and Mario (Andretti)back in the USAC days! This is one heck of a track to drive and has such great fans. Please help bring racing back to the Mile so that I can share the experience with my children and grandchildren!!

I started going to the Milwaukee Mile when it was the State Fair Track. I used to go on Thursday evening to watch the stock cars on a small track in front of the grandstans. And I beleive it was in the late 40s when stock cars ran and Kaiser Fraseer was the choice. But a local friend of ours entered a new Caddy. And his friend drove it in front all day with an unlit cigar in his mouth!!! He won the race BUT the next Day that stated the a local driver from Racine won it!!!
They did not want a driver who drove racing cars and midgets in the 20s to get the win!!! The last time I went I forgot to wear ear plugs and I was deaf for awhile. I still love racing and my favorite stock card drive is Matt Kenseth and second favorite is That bad boy Kryle Busch.

I have attended races at The Mile since 1965 and have seen it go through many seasons of racing. It was great the have the then "Busch" and Trucks come to The Mile. I have great memories of Fair Week races where there were two or three races a week - a gearhead's dream! What a terrible and foolish thing it would be to close the Mile, since major NASCAR teams have regularly chosen the Mile for a great place to practice. As well, open wheel Indy car drivers have great praise for the Mile. It's time to end unscrupulous promoters strangle hold on the Mile and return it to the fans!

My husband and I have been attending this race since 1983 minus the year they didn't run. I think that was 2010 and that made a big empty space in our summer. We made it one year after working 3rd shift (12 hour shift), We showed when I had broken my leg. I had a cast to my knee and was in a wheel chair. I had a liver transplant in Sept. 2006 and showed up in June even though I was pretty sick. We are die-hard racing fans. We've seen that track go through so many changes over the years and I thank God that the Andretti's have the same love for this track as we do. THANK YOU TO THE ANDRETTI FAMILY!!! LET'S GO RACING!!!

The mile is a wonderful, unique treasure and has always been an integral part of summer in wisconsin. The driver"s love the track and so do we fans. The prices are reasonable and the experience is what summer is all about after a long dark winter in wisconsin. No one can tell me that this great facility cannot survive. I believe it can not only survive, but thrive, with the right people managing and promoting it. Thank you Andretti's for showing your faith in our wonderful track and making this years Indyfest possible. In the past, the track always drew good crowds and with consistent leadership and teamwork, it will again. It would be tragic to allow this great track to be shuttered and torn down. The only analogy to that would be tearing down Lambeau Field or Fenway Park. Come on people don't allow a great thing like "The Mile" to dissapear. If you do, i gaurentee that you will regret it someday. It is one of those rare facilities that is truely IRREPLACABLE! You can never build another one.

I've been to several IndyCar races at the Mile and it is not only a great event for the fans but also one of the drivers' favorite tracks. The racing has always been highly entertaining and with the right promoter and a title sponsor, the Milwaukee IndyCar race can again be one of the most successful races in the series. It would be a terrible shame if the county and state do not continue to invest in the Mile and support one of the oldest races in American motor sports history.
