Race track in the country. There are a lot of Top race car drivers through out the country that would love to race at this place!Wisconsin needs to talk to someone who nows out to promote Races1

My husband and I have been attending this race since 1983 minus the year they didn't run. I think that was 2010 and that made a big empty space in our summer. We made it one year after working 3rd shift (12 hour shift), We showed when I had broken my leg. I had a cast to my knee and was in a wheel chair. I had a liver transplant in Sept. 2006 and showed up in June even though I was pretty sick. We are die-hard racing fans. We've seen that track go through so many changes over the years and I thank God that the Andretti's have the same love for this track as we do. THANK YOU TO THE ANDRETTI FAMILY!!! LET'S GO RACING!!!

The mile is a wonderful, unique treasure and has always been an integral part of summer in wisconsin. The driver"s love the track and so do we fans. The prices are reasonable and the experience is what summer is all about after a long dark winter in wisconsin. No one can tell me that this great facility cannot survive. I believe it can not only survive, but thrive, with the right people managing and promoting it. Thank you Andretti's for showing your faith in our wonderful track and making this years Indyfest possible. In the past, the track always drew good crowds and with consistent leadership and teamwork, it will again. It would be tragic to allow this great track to be shuttered and torn down. The only analogy to that would be tearing down Lambeau Field or Fenway Park. Come on people don't allow a great thing like "The Mile" to dissapear. If you do, i gaurentee that you will regret it someday. It is one of those rare facilities that is truely IRREPLACABLE! You can never build another one.

The Milwaukee Mile is the oldest race track in America. It is a fantastic racing experience, as well as a great fan destination in Milwaukee. It deserves to not only be renovated, but also to land itself a Cup Series race, something I can't believe it never had once in all the years The Milwaukee Mile has been open.

Someone needs to actually promote the Indycar race if they come back! You never hear or see anything about that race but yet you cant go 5 minutes on tv without hearing the word Nascar. I have been to atleast 35 Indycar races at the mile and think the race is almost always one of the best on the schedule. They really need Indycar at this track, its a great track and should be used!

I've been to several IndyCar races at the Mile and it is not only a great event for the fans but also one of the drivers' favorite tracks. The racing has always been highly entertaining and with the right promoter and a title sponsor, the Milwaukee IndyCar race can again be one of the most successful races in the series. It would be a terrible shame if the county and state do not continue to invest in the Mile and support one of the oldest races in American motor sports history.

Keep Milwaukee Mile going. We can get this track back to full capcity through promoting it. It wont happen over night but within 3 yrs we could have this track back in the circuit. We can have Nascar and Indy in here and give Milwaukee County and West Allis a good tourist income by having this track an active track. Its all boils down to word of mouth and promoting it outside of Wisconsin as well. Promote the track at every other race and that will get people outside of Milwaukee on board as well. This would be one of the best things that the politians could keep. Its historical, money gold mine and something that doesnt required a lot of changes and up keep to keep it going. There is a lot that can go into this to continue to generate a steady flow of income year after year. But it depends on promoting it. Get out of Wisconsin and promote the Milwaukee Mile at the other races. If people dont know its there they wont come. Have something that stands out at each race that will stay with the fans that came so it will also remain in the minds of people who do attend.

The loyal racing fan base of southeastern WI deserves an active racing facility like this. Someone with money who KNOWS something about the racing business needs to be found to run the Mile. Then the Fair Park board needs to step back and give them a chance to make it work.

We have been to many great races at the milwaukee mile over the years. It is important to the history of Wisconsin and a great way to promote our fine state. how is it that after million dollars plus in new grandstands and safer barriers we allow the racetrack to die?? i do not think we need a rocket scientist to promote races at this track. we need a passionate person who really cares about premiere racing at the countries oldest racetrack. why not let a group of fans take over the track and see what happens. we certainly couldn't do any worse.

With Indy Car announcing 1/13/12 they want to come back to the Mile in 2012 if the Fair Board doesn't work hard to help pull this off then it is time for a new Fair Board. With 100+ years of racing at the Mile, it would be a crime to let this opportunity slip way.

Why can't Miller Brewing be the title sponsor of the Mile like it used to. A few years back, my friends and I were shocked that the alcohol vendor
at the track was Budweiser. State Fair Park made a huge mistake on that one. The mile needs to be back on the Indycar calendar the week after the Indy 500 with Miller Brewing as the title sponsor and beverage concessionaire.Period. Indycar fans haven't left Wisconsin, they just like their tradition. In the words of Paul Newman in the movie winning "Everybody goes to Milwaukee after Indy"..........

I attended my first race there in the late 40s. I also saw the Packers play there. I saw Jim Hurtibise flame, Les Snow driving with his arm out the window and Frank Burany. Bill Shoulders, Jim Rathman, Marshall Teague and Norm Nelson. Jim Clark with his left front 10 inches off the ground. Tony Bettenhausen was my favorite. Quarter miler Fuzzy Fasbender. I saw Ed Elisian die in front of me on the south turn. The fire scorched my skin. Last year while visiting Milwaukee I walked the track, it was desolate. So glad they're running there again. I will try to make the race.

And my vision and guts say this milwaukee mile steal have life in it, and i well host an racing event in the milwaukee mile; know as the Milwaukee mile 3000mile race that start in daylight and end at night time. Have only been in Wisconsin for six years, but have gone to races here every year, prior to this mess. Prior to moving here, lived twenty minutes from Dover Speedway. Seems very sad and strange, that someone can't be found to run this historic track in a fashion that can turn a profit and draw national race series events. Maybe there's a lack of general public racing interest in this area? Seems like politics intervention in private ventures is not a good thing? Got my fingers crossed, and ready to buy tickets when events return.

The first race I attended at The Mile was the Tony Bettenhausen 200 in 1970. I have been an indy car fan ever since. Watching these cars through the 1970's inspired me to take the Skip Barber Racing School course and pursue a career with them. I attended all the IRL/IndyCar Series races at the mile and I am sad that we have no major league racing for the foreseeable future.
