I drove this historic track a month ago as part of the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience. Just thinking I could be one of the last few people to drive this track in a list of racing legends blew my mind. Someone like Wallace or Penske should just write a fat check to own it and to keep corrupt State Fair management out of it.

Hire whoever is running RA. They brought back "LeMans" in the early 2000's. Host any and every event there to build interest. Promote and get sponsors, advertise early, you cant get people there if they don't know in advance.
I would hate to see the track go, but I know doing nothing will bring it back.

I grew up and still reside just blocks from the mile.
The sound of races is nostalgic to me and thus I love it.
I do not want to see it the mile go and I wish I understood all the political and business reasons why we can't seem to make the mile successful.
Racing may not be as big of a sport as it once was, but it is still a big sport. How does Road America fill their seats and we struggle? What are they and other successful race tracks doing that we are not? Why should this be so difficult?
I am just one person, but if there is anything I can do to help keep the mile and make it more successful, let me know what I can do.

Unfortunately the mile will be torn down, Road America hosting indy cars no chance indy cars will go back to mile if RA is on schedule.
If you went to the mile the last couple indy races that were held there. You had to notice no one in the stands. Half the people in stands had free tickets.
Indy series on the verge of not making it dosent help either.
Nascar will never be back.
It's a business and no one is going to invest in a business that doesn't have revenue, Andretti tried but realized he couldn't turn it around either.
Sad news for sure

This is a landmark for many of racers past and present. I have been attending the Fair and races since I was 6 years old. We already have enough Ghost Tracks out there.

Growing up, our family would always attend the State Fair and take in the race in August and the first race after Indy. It would be a shame to lose this historic track.

I've crewed there in just about every division. I love the place. It always been the super speedway for us midwest short trackers.
It's historical and a nice facility and should not go to waste because of management and government...

Having grown up in Milwaukee, the Mile always provided a great entertainment venue. USAC Stock Car races, ASA, USAC Indy Cars, this history is amazing. If neighbors don't understand the noise, they shouldn't have moved there
