Racing For Kids Charity Rides Around The Milwaukee Mile

Take a historic lap around The Milwaukee Mile in a Harry Miller Club Vintage Indy Car on Saturday, July 11 at Milwaukee IndyFest

Milwaukee (June 23, 2015) – Fans have an opportunity to ride around the historic Milwaukee Mile in a Harry Miller Club Vintage Indy Car with all proceeds benefiting the charity, Racing For Kids. 

Founded in Detroit in 1989, Racing For Kids is designed to use the increasing popularity of motorsports to focus public attention and funding on the health care needs of children. Every year, IndyCar drivers travel to children’s hospitals around the country creating memories that will last a lifetime.

“What a great opportunity!” Says Pat Wright, executive director of Racing For Kids. “You get an exciting ride around the historic Milwaukee Mile in a vintage Indy Car and help sick kids in the process. It doesn’t get any better than that.”

“Getting involved with Racing For Kids was an easy decision for us,” says Dana Mecum, president of the Harry Miller Club. “There is no opportunity in sports where you can experience the thrill and history quite like auto racing, and to have the proceeds benefit Racing For Kids makes it even more special.”

These one-lap rides are available for purchase online by clicking here. There are 50 rides available from 6:15-6:30 p.m., 7:15-7:30 p.m. and 8:00-8:45 p.m. (CT). Purchase of charity ride includes a general admission ticket to Milwaukee IndyFest and a paddock pass. Rides will be scheduled on a first come-first served basis. Riders must be at least 16 years of age or older and will be required to wear pants and closed toe shoes. A helmet will be provided.

The Verizon IndyCar Series will return to the world-famous Milwaukee Mile July 11-12 for two days of high speed action at the world’s oldest operating motor speedway!
