On Wednesday, August 7th, the Wisconsin State Building Commission officially approved a third phase of track safety improvements for the historic Milwaukee Mile.
The third phase of improvements will include the replacement of the catch fence systems and concrete barrier walls inside Turns 1 and 2. Other work including drainage improvements, storm sewer improvements, regrading, and asphalt replacement will be done as needed to complete the work inside Turns 1 and 2. All work should be completed ahead of racing events scheduled to occur at the track in June 2025.
“The projects approved today are critically important for folks across our state, including upgrades to the Milwaukee Mile Speedway,” said Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers.
