Tickets Go On Sale Feb. 22 For Super Late Model “ARCA Fest” At The Milwaukee Mile

38 SPECIAL Concert Added to Stellar Short Track Racing Program

February 11, 2013 (West Allis, WI) – For American stock car racing fans, the Daytona 500 is the biggest event on their calendar. As the Great American Race is upon us, one event many Midwest short track racers considered “their 2012 Daytona 500” was held at the Milwaukee Mile last June.

Over 12,000 spectators turned out on a warm Tuesday night to witness third-generation Wisconsin racer Travis Sauter beat several NASCAR stars – in a field of 71 super late model racers – to score a popular victory in the 150-lap Midwest Tour super late model race at the historic Milwaukee Mile.

This summer, the highly-anticipated event returns to the Milwaukee Mile and moves to the second Monday and Tuesday in July. Event organizers, building on the success of last year, are adding a Monday night concert featuring the heritage Southern rock band 38 Special.

With sales in excess of 20 million, 38 Special will headline “ARCA Fest” on Monday night, July 8th performing their arena-rock pop smashes “Hold On Loosely,” “Rockin’ Into the Night,” “Caught Up in You,” “Fantasy Girl,” “If I’d Been the One,” “Back Where You Belong,” “Second Chance,” and more.

The Midwest Tour, now under the sanction of the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA), will again be the headline division, with soon-to-be-announced NASCAR stars racing Tuesday night, July 9th against a deep field of the country’s best racers led by the ECHO and ECHO BearCat Touring Stars of the ARCA Midwest Tour presented by SCAG Power Equipment & Lester Buildings.

Tickets for the July 8-9, 2013 “ARCA Fest” go on sale Friday, February 22nd at 10:00 a.m. Central Time online at www.ARCAfest.com.

If music lovers just want to catch the iconic rock band in concert, tickets to Milwaukee’s only 38 Special concert are affordably priced at $25 for general admission, $35 for reserved seating.

Money-saving “ARCA Fest Bundle” 2-day tickets start at just $40 that include the concert and BOTH days of exciting on-track action featuring five racing divisions!
Fans can save money by buying “ARCA Fest” race tickets and concert tickets in advance. Just 800 reserved seat concert tickets and 5,000 general admission 38 Special concert tickets will be sold beginning February 22nd. Details are available at www.arcafest.com.

“We had great success in 2012 and it is obvious that fans are eager to see more with the event. Adding 38 Special brings the whole race festival we are building up a few notches to give the fans something extra as they enjoy ARCA Fest in 2013,” commented event organizer and ARCA Midwest Tour Vice President Steve Einhaus. “With the band’s popularity and the limited seating, the concert could sell out very quickly when tickets go on sale next Friday. I’m sure we’ll be “Rockin’ into the night” on the Monday night of ARCA Fest!”

On-track, fans will see established short track series competitors racing in the Big 8 Series late models, Midwest Truck Tour, Mid-American Stock Car Series and Vintage Series on both days. The feature events for these four divisions will take place in the afternoon of Tuesday, July 9, with the 150-lap headlining ARCA Midwest Tour event taking an anticipated green flag at 6:30p.m.

“We appreciate everyone’s feedback following our first promoted event at the Milwaukee Mile last year. We are making improvements to make ARCA Fest bigger, better and stronger,” Einhaus said. “Several new food vendors want to take part in the event, which will benefit everyone, that’s for sure. We’ve been working in-step with the Fair Park staff to better prepare for another expected large crowd over the two days of ARCA Fest. And lastly, the biggest benefit to families attending our event will be the fan-friendly pricing and our schedule adjustments to start feature events earlier – starting at 4:00 p.m., with the ARCA Midwest Tour 150-lap race starting at 6:30 p.m. – to get them home at a reasonable hour.”

Many more details, including the growing list of NASCAR stars racing against the country’s best super late model racers, will be announced in the near future.
