The Save the Mile website was launched in 2008 by a group of Milwaukee area race fans and business owners who were strongly opposed to the idea that it was time for the State of Wisconsin to "cut its losses" and close the Milwaukee Mile. Plans at the time called for the track to be demolished and the property redeveloped for other purposes.
The Milwaukee Mile has a rich history history that extends back more than 110 years. With proper management and support from the State of Wisconsin and surrounding community, the Milwaukee Mile should see many years of exciting racing to come.
The goal of this website is to bring attention to the the situation at hand involving the Milwaukee Mile, and to give race fans across Wisconsin and the country the opportunity to voice their opinion and show their support for the lengendary oval.
